Mr. Liu Tongwei, professor of Shanghai Sports University, is the worldwide-known and leading Wushu expert participated in the creation of International Wushu competition rules.
He is also a big friend of Mrs. Eleonora Volokontseva since a long time ago. She invited him to hold a seminar for Accredited Participators of Wushu Association of Baltic and Nordic Countries. The preparations took almost 2 years and finally, in August 02, 2007, Mr. Liu Tongwei came to St-Petesburg, accompanied by his assistant and translator, Mr. Wang Weiguo.
The seminar covered the new edition of rules, introduced in 2007. The sessions included theory and practice.
On the theory lessons, Mr. Liu Tongwei highlighted both essentials and nuances of judgement for judge groups A, B and C. On the practical lessons, the students judged the video recodings of performances on China Nationals 2007 and compared their results with the real scores. Then, Mr. Liu s Tongwei commented on most common errors in judgement.
During the evening trainings, Mr. Liu Tongwei teached the principles and methods of jumping for the difficult movements as well as many preparatory exercises. The athletes from the team of St-Petersburg Sporting Wushu Federation assited him as demonstrators.
